Albertsons Market lifts spirits at University of New Mexico Hospital with donation of stuffed animals for the holidays

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —On Friday, Albertsons Market team members donated more than 1,500 stuffed animals to children at the University of New Mexico Hospital. The donation aims to bring comfort and joy to young patients during the holiday season.

For a week in November, Albertsons Market guests and team members participated in a stuffed animal drive, which resulted in 1,566 stuffed animals being given to the cause.

Led by floral department teams across the area, the goal was to make sure enough stuffed animals were donated so that every child at UNM Hospital would receive one. That goal was surpassed and the stuffed animals donated should last an entire year. Some of the stuffed animals will also be part of Santa’s helicopter toy delivery at the hospital on December 15.

“We are so excited to contribute these stuffed animals to the young patients at UNM Hospital,” said Carlos Hernandez, RVP for The United Family. “Our commitment to supporting the communities we serve extends far beyond providing groceries. We hope that these stuffed animals will bring smiles and comfort to those who need it most during this time of year.”
