ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albertsons Market will donate 2,800 pounds of apples to the Roadrunner Food Bank on Thursday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. Media members are invited to attend.
Now in its eleventh year, this donation marks a continuing commitment by Albertsons Market as an original partner of the Take a Bite Out of Hunger™ program, sponsored by FirstFruits Marketing of Washington. FirstFruits created the program to help feed the underserved while bringing attention to the problem of food insecurity in the United States.
Over the past week, United Family stores in Texas and New Mexico have donated more than 39,000 lbs. of apples.
