Albertsons Market Reminds Guests of In-Store Credit for Reusable Bags

(Albuquerque, New Mexico–  With the new ordinance prohibiting the utilization of single-use plastic bags going into effect January 1, 2020, Albertsons Market reminds guests of the five-cent credit given for each reusable bag brought for grocery purchases. The reusable five-cent credit is offered at all Albertsons Market stores in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Santa Fe and Taos.

Regional Vice President, Travis Chaney said this effort is close to the heart of the company. “Albertsons Market strives to operate in a manner that improves the quality of life in the communities we serve. We continually work in tandem with the community to incorporate sustainability into the core of our business operations and processes with the hopes of becoming a more efficient consumer and steward of our planet’s valuable resources,” added Chaney.

In 2018, The United Family recycled 848,000 pounds of plastic which would have otherwise gone to landfills.
