Albertsons Market and Market Street Kicks Off Turkey Bucks, Fundraiser to Fight Food Insecurity During the Holidays

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — On Wednesday, Market Street and Albertsons Markets across the state of New Mexico launched their annual program, Turkey Bucks.

Turkey Bucks is a program designed to help raise money for those dealing with food insecurity as the holiday season approaches. As COVID-19 continues to impact communities across New Mexico, the need will be greater than ever this year.

Guests of Albertsons Market will have the opportunity to make a donation at the register when they are finished shopping. It is as easy as ever to help neighbors this holiday season.

“We are so excited to once again kick off Turkey Bucks this holiday season,” said Travis Chaney, regional vice president for the United Family in New Mexico. “It means the world to us to be in a position to help families who are dealing with food insecurity during this time of the year. We encourage our guests to donate what they can.”

The donations will go to several food banks and other charitable organizations across New Mexico. This includes The Food Depot, Shared Table, Store House New Mexico and El Ranchito in Los Lunas.
